NUMEROLOGY 101
Numerology incorporates the Pythagorean belief that "all things can be expressed in numerical terms because all things are ultimately reducible to numbers".

Numerologist always reduce names and dates from their double-digit numbers to single ones by left to right additions. the single numbers arrived at by this process are then interpreted according to the qualities and characteristics assigned to them:

3. gaiety, versatility, brilliance
4. endurance, steadiness, dullness
5. sexuality, adventure, instability
6. domesticity, harmony, dependability

By gaining a conscious understanding of these higher influences, you can meet the challenges of everyday life with confidence and self-assurance.
NUMEROLOGY DEFINITIONS
LIFE PATH ......The major lesson to be learned in this life and the potential abilities and obstacles which accompany it. There may be some who have not yet discovered their Life Path. Often they will have difficulty relating to this section of the report. If this is the case, it is important for them to get in touch with the energies discussed in this section if they are to maximize their potentials. The Life Path is the most important part of the numerology reading. This number is derived by finding the sum of the month, day and year of birth.
EXPRESSION......A major part of the potential talents and abilities, the preferred working environment and possible problem areas related to the career. The Expression is second in importance after the Life Path and is derived by finding the sum of the number values of all the letters in each name.
SOUL URGE......The inner motivation - what a person wants to be, to have and to do - and the potential abilities and obstacles which accompany the motivation. The Soul Urge is third in importance after the Expression and is derived by finding the sum of the number values of the vowels in each name.
BIRTHDAY......The number of the day of birth describes an important sub-lesson to be learned in this life and the potential abilities and obstacles which accompany it. The Birthday is fourth in importance after the Soul Urge and is derived from the day of birth.
REPEATED NUMBERS......Difficulties encountered because a particular energy is not used in a balanced manner and is either overemphasized or barely used. As an example, the number 1 used in a balanced way represents, among other things, independence along with consideration for others. With repeated 1's, the energy is either overemphasized, producing a dominating individual, or barely used, producing a dependent individual. A number is repeated when it occurs in more then one significant location - Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Birthday, or in the sub-numbers used to calculate these numbers. Not every report has Repeated Numbers.
INTENSITY POINTS......Strengths or weaknesses encountered because of an above average or below average use of a particular energy. Intensity Points result from a particular number value occurring too often or not often enough in the letters of the birth name. Not every report has Intensity Points.
KARMIC DEBT......Significant difficulties encountered in this life because of the misuse of a particular energy in a past life. The four Karmic Debt numbers are 13, 14, 16, and 19. Not every report has Karmic Debts.
KARMIC LESSON......Potential weaknesses or difficulties encountered in this life because a particular energy has not been experienced in previous lives. Karmic Lessons result when a particular number value does not occur at all in the letters of the birth name and this same number is missing from the Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, and Birthday. Many reports have Karmic Lessons.
MODIFIED KARMIC LESSON......Potential weaknesses or difficulties encountered in this life because a particular energy has not been experienced in previous lives. These lessons are usually experienced in a slightly weaker way then the Karmic Lessons. Modified Karmic Lessons result when a particular number value does not occur at all in the letters of the birth name but is present in either the Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, or Birthday. Many reports have Modified Karmic Lessons.
CHALLENGE......An obstacle usually encountered in the early years of life due to the emphasis being placed on the negative extreme of the potential. Sometimes people will still be working on their challenge even as adults. The Challenge is derived from the date of birth as follows: subtract the month digit and day digit; subtract the day digit and the year digit; subtract the two resulting numbers. Always subtract the smaller number from the larger.
MATURITY NUMBER......An important sub-lesson usually introduced between the ages of thirty-five and fifty. If you think of the Life Path, or main lesson, as a highway, the Maturity Number represents a widening of the highway during the mature years. The Maturity Number is found by summing the Life Path and Expression.
PROGRESSED AGE......The Progressed Age shown on the chart page is the numerological age of the person for the Year shown. This is the same as the age the person will be at the end of the year. Sometimes this is the actual age of the person at the time the report is done and sometimes it differs from the actual age by one year. However, it is the correct age to use to calculate the Life Path Period, Pinnacle and Personal Year for the Year displayed on the chart.
LIFE PATH PERIOD......The three Life Path Periods in each person's life describe the probable general influences in the three phases of the life as aspects of the Life Path direction. (The Life Path Periods are also called Cycles.) If you think of the Life Path as a many-laned highway, the Life Path Period is the lane on which a person is traveling at a particular time. The lane describes the general influences acting on the individual. The first period is defined as the month number from the birth date. The second period is defined as the day number from the birth date and the third period is defined as the year number from the birth date.
PINNACLE......The four Pinnacles describe the general influences during each of the four Pinnacle phases of the life. The Pinnacles have no direct relation to the Life Path like the above Periods, but they are, nevertheless, important in the description of the tone of the individual's background. The first Pinnacle is the sum of the month and day numbers from the birth date. The second Pinnacle is the sum of the day and year numbers from the birth date. The third Pinnacle is the sum of the first and second Pinnacles. The fourth Pinnacle is the sum of the month and year numbers from the birth date.
PERSONAL YEAR......The Personal Year describes the yearly approach to events likely to produce growth and development. By using the described approach, the individual is in the best position to take advantage of the events and opportunities presented, as well as to avoid or alleviate the confusions and difficulties likely to be part of the experiences encountered. The Personal Year is the sum of the birth month, birthday, and the calendar year in question.
NOTE......Master numbers (11/2 or 22/4) are only used for the Life Path Period, Pinnacle ,and Personal Year if the same master number also occurs in either the Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, or Birthday, for the birth core or current core. Otherwise, just the final reduced number (2 or 4) is used.
